Abstract

Differences in students' backgrounds and abilities in learning require teachers to be creative and innovative in creating content, carrying out the learning process and products. Every student has the right to receive fair learning according to their interests and talents. Differentiated learning is one approach that can be taken to meet the needs of students, including in the Islamic religious education learning process. This article discusses how the differentiated learning model is applied in Islamic religious education lessons in relation to the implementation of the independent curriculum at Miftahul Huda Gogodeso Middle School. This article uses a qualitative research approach with a multisite study design or uses a single case analysis. Differentiated learning in Islamic religious education lessons can be effective if it is supported by teaching tools that are tailored to students' interests in turns and in collaboration, namely textbooks, videos, infographics and field practice.
