Abstract

Garbage is waste from various human activities. Uncontrolled waste piles then have an impact on environmental problems such as beauty, and public health and furthermore can be the cause of disasters (methane gas explosions, landslides, air pollution due to open burning and others).

The Sapujagad Waste Bank is a BUMDES unit in Ringinagung Magetan Village that cares and is concerned with waste problems, especially in Ringinagung Village. The task of the Sapujagad Garbage Bank like other Waste Banks is to manage waste so that it can be sorted, recycled and utilized with additional economic value.

In describing the activities of the Sapujagad Waste Bank in Ringinagung Village, the researchers used a qualitative approach. Collecting data in this study by means of snowball sampling. Data collection in this study was carried out by participant observation, in-depth interviews and documentation studies. In this study the authors analyzed the data by means of "data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing (verification)".

The results of this study are first, waste can be economically valuable and have selling power if the amount is adequate and in the hands of the right people who are able to recycle. Second, the collaboration between the Sapujagad Waste Bank and the community in managing waste using the musharaka system. Third, the benefits of the Waste Bank for the community are numerous.
