Abstract; This study aims to: find out how the management of lecturer quality development (planning and coaching) is related to the development of the Department and Study Program
This research was conducted at STAIM Kendal Ngawi using a qualitative approach, with a case study design. Data collection techniques were carried out through (1) in-depth interviews; (2) participant observation; and (3) documentation study. The selection of research informants used a purposive technique combined with "snowball sampling". While the data collected is then checked for validity by checking credibility using extended observation time, triangulation techniques, peer discussions, member checking, dependability and confirmability. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using an interactive model which included (1) data reduction, (2) data presentation; and (3) drawing conclusions.
From the results of data analysis, the following findings were obtained: Management of lecturer quality development regarding planning for the procurement of STAIM Kendal Ngawi Lecturers, coaching and development. Lecturer staff planning is carried out by considering qualitative and quantitative aspects, qualitative aspects are carried out through a selection process based on GPA, oral and written examinations. The Lecturer Development at STAIM Kendal Ngawi is carried out through formal education such as continuing Masters and Doctoral studies, and non-formal education such as attending scientific lectures, participating in competitive researchers and seminars or other scientific studies;
Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that (1) the quality development of STAIM Kendal Ngawi lecturers need to be focused on the expertise each one has. This is intended so that each Lecturer masters a particular scientific discipline; (2) STAIM Kendal Ngawi needs to fight for the funds needed in developing the quality of lecturers, so that lecturers who continue their studies in formal education can be serious and on time; (3) the opening of new departments and study programs should be fought for, moreover the change to an Institute is one of the doors in actualizing the nature of the Islamic Religious Institute which studies and discusses all scientific disciplines.
