METODE STUDI ISLAM

Islam emerges within a society with its own culture and forms a new, more civilized culture. Islam comes not to dismantle the old culture but to reconstruct a culture that deviates from its main axis. Socially, which is the second concern after theological aspects, religion is present to harmonize among human beings, thus forming peace as its mission. Various approaches strive to translate the overarching concepts of religion, including sociological approaches. This article attempts to explain one infrastructure of an approach to the normative values of a religious doctrine. Using Descriptive Analysis as its analytical tool, it is hoped that this writing can provide an overview of the sociological approach to the study of religion, so that religion can be manifested as a real part of life, truly present in everyday life within a community.
